The first three years of life is considered the most fundamental for human development. It is this time that lays the foundation for human intelligence, social skills, joy in learning, curiosity, trust and problem solving. Children’s minds of this age are compared to that of a sponge, absorbing whatever is in the environment effortlessly.
Our Toddler Class provides a nurturing and beautiful environment where children are gradually introduced to early Montessori materials while engaging in activities from the Creative Curriculum. This is the beginning of self-development as toddlers learn to use their language skills to express their feelings and develop their vocabulary skills. Toddlers in this class will learn to refine their pincer grasp and hand-eye coordination. Sharing, using scissors, self-care, care of the classroom environment and arts and crafts are part of the toddler curriculum as well.
Enrollment in the Toddler Class does not require children to be potty trained. Teachers, in collaboration with the parents, provide toddlers with the necessary support and assistance to successful potty-training. However, to move to the Primary Class, children need to be fully potty-trained without any accidents for two full weeks.
